How do I add an ICT third-party provider?
Create the provider record that everything else hangs from, and record an identifier the authority can match against the GLEIF register.

Open Third Parties in the left navigation and choose Add provider.
You should see: A dialog titled Add ICT third-party.

Enter the Legal name exactly as it appears on the contract, and choose a Type.
The legal name, not the trading name. Two entities in a group often trade under one brand, and the register has to name the one you contracted with.

Enter the LEI if the provider has one.
You should see: Twenty characters. The last two are a checksum and are checked.
If they have no LEI, leave it blank and record an alternative identifier instead - a register entry with neither cannot be filed, and the validation screen will say so.

Choose Add provider.
Worth knowing
The LEI matters more than it looks. It is a primary key in two of the filed tables, so an LEI belonging to a different firm does not produce a warning somewhere - it names the wrong counterparty in your submission.
Once the provider is saved, open it and use Check with GLEIF. The check digits prove the LEI is well formed; only GLEIF can say it belongs to this firm. Roughly one in ninety-seven single-character typos produces another valid LEI, and that one belongs to somebody.
